The Free Woman offers a different perspective on success, self-improvement, and the quiet question so many women carry but rarely say out loud:

“I have so much to be grateful for... so why does it still feel like there must be more?”

My Love...

You have built a life that looks good from the outside.

The career. The home. The achievements. You have done everything right.

And yet — quietly, privately — something feels off.

A subtle flatness. A sense of watching your life rather than living it. You reach the milestone and wait for the feeling that’s supposed to arrive.

It doesn’t.

And then comes the thought you don’t say out loud:

“I should be grateful. I have no right to feel like this.”

So you push it down. Add another book, another practice, another course. And still, underneath it all, there is a quiet ache that none of it seems to touch.

Late at night, in the honest quiet, you wonder:

“Is this it? Is this really what I worked so hard for?”

Maybe you can feel that there is another chapter of your life asking to be lived.

More purpose. More meaning. More freedom. More of you.

The problem is, you're no longer completely sure what “more” means for you - or whether you can trust yourself enough to follow it.

You don't need more discipline.

And you don't need another reason to believe there's something wrong with you.

Maybe what you need is to understand the lens you've been living through, and what becomes possible when you stop mistaking that lens for the truth.

Because the patterns shaping your choices aren't necessarily evidence that you're broken.

They may be strategies you learned long ago to belong, stay safe, be loved or feel enough.

And even when those strategies helped you once, they may no longer be creating the life you actually want.

The Free Woman isn't about becoming someone better.

It's about coming home to yourself.

The Thing You Can’t See Is The Thing That's Running Everything.

You’ve done the therapy. Read the books. Sat with the practices. You can explain your patterns with impressive clarity.

And yet some of the patterns you understand so well are still the patterns you find yourself living.

Because underneath every pattern, every reaction, every quiet moment of not-enough, there is a belief so old you stopped knowing it was a belief.

Something like:

I have to earn my place.

Rest must be deserved.

If I stop performing, I will lose what I’ve built.

You did not choose these consciously. They were given to you — by experiences, by the people who shaped you, by a world that taught you how to stay safe.

And they worked. They kept you moving, achieving, surviving.

But surviving is not the same as living.

And a lens is not the same as truth.

The moment you see it - really see it - something inside you exhales. Not because the pattern disappears instantly. But because what was invisible becomes visible.

And what can be seen can be chosen.

Instead of asking “Why do I keep ending up here?” you begin asking:

“What might this be here to show me?”

See, I was just like you...

On paper, my life looked perfect.

Corporate career. Promotions. Money. A loving partner.

Inside, I was at an all-time low. Exhausted in a way sleep didn’t fix. Numbing with busyness, with wine, with the relentless forward motion of the next achievement.

I'd done the therapy. Read the books. Explored myself from every angle I knew how.

Some of it helped. But underneath it all, I still carried the feeling that there was something fundamentally wrong with me.

I could understand myself intellectually and still find myself living the same patterns.

Then, in a coaching session at my lowest, one question stopped me completely.

“What if you chose all of this?”

My first response was resistance. Chosen this? The emptiness? The anxiety?

But something in me went very still.

Because if I had chosen it - even at a soul level - I wasn’t a victim of my life. I was the author of it.

That one reframe didn’t just change my perspective. It gave me back my power.

The patterns weren’t evidence of what was wrong with me. They were invitations. Signposts pointing toward the life I was really here to live.

I eventually left the corporate career I'd worked so hard to build. Not because it was a failure, but because I finally admitted it was no longer the life I wanted.

I began creating a life around what actually mattered to me - coaching and mentoring others, work that gives me a sense of purpose, the freedom to travel, and eventually building a life in Bali that once would have felt impossible to choose.

My version of “more” won't necessarily look anything like yours.

But I know what it takes to stop asking what you should want and start trusting yourself enough to find out what you actually do.

And that's what I now help other women do.

Why Understanding Yourself Hasn’t Set You Free

The women who find this book are often extraordinarily self-aware.

You may already know your patterns.

You know why you people-please.

Why you overthink.

Why you seek reassurance.

Why you keep repeating something you've promised yourself you would change.

And knowing hasn't necessarily stopped you from living it.

Because understanding a pattern and being able to choose differently when that pattern is activated are two different things.

That's the gap The Free Woman explores.

Not just:

“Why am I like this?”

But:

“How do I begin living differently now that I can see it?”

That is where the shift begins.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

I’ve tried therapy, coaching, and self-help. How is this different?

The Free Woman isn't asking you to learn another set of techniques for managing or fixing yourself.

It gives you a framework for understanding the patterns underneath your choices - and, through The Homecoming Code™, explores how to move from awareness into self-trust and embodiment.

It's less about becoming a better version of yourself and more about learning to recognise and trust the woman who is already there.

What if I feel numb, apathetic, or disconnected?

You don't need to arrive feeling motivated, clear or deeply connected to yourself.

The book begins exactly where you are.

Rather than forcing yourself to feel differently, you'll be invited to become curious about what you're experiencing and what it may be showing you.

What if I know I want more, but I have no idea what I actually want?

You don't need to know before you begin.

In fact, losing touch with what you want can be part of the pattern. When you've spent years making choices around expectations, achievement, other people's needs or what you thought you should want, your own desires can become harder to hear.

The Free Woman helps you begin separating what you genuinely want from what you've learned you should want, so you can hear your own voice more clearly and begin trusting it again.

Is this spiritual, psychological, or practical?

All three, without bypassing. This work integrates psychology, nervous system regulation, and spiritual truth in a grounded, embodied way.

What if I already understand my patterns intellectually?

Then this book may be especially relevant.

The Free Woman explores the gap between understanding why you do something and being able to choose differently when the pattern actually appears.

The Homecoming Code™ gives you a framework for moving from intellectual awareness toward lived self-trust.

What if this brings things up I’ve been avoiding?

Go at your own pace.

This isn't a book you need to race through. Pause, reflect and take what serves you.

And if something arises that feels bigger than you want to navigate alone, seek the appropriate support rather than forcing yourself through it.

About The Author

Mel is a Self-Trust Coach, Spiritual Guide and creator of The Homecoming Code™. She works with accomplished women who have created the life they thought they wanted but can't shake the feeling there must be more - helping them reconnect with what they truly want and rebuild the self-trust to go after it.

She knows that crossroads personally. After years of climbing the corporate ladder and building a life that looked successful from the outside, Mel realised the life she'd worked so hard to create no longer felt like hers. Learning to trust herself changed the direction of her life. She left corporate, built a career centred around coaching and mentoring others, and created the freedom to live and travel in a way she had once only imagined.

She teaches from lived experience, blending psychological depth, spiritual truth, and nervous system regulation.

The women she works with learn to hear themselves again, trust what they truly want and make choices that reflect who they are now — rather than continuing to live by the expectations that shaped who they thought they should be.

This isn't about becoming someone new.

It's about remembering who you've always been, and finally trusting her.

You Can Be Grateful For Your Life And Still Want More.

You can love what you've created and recognise that parts of it no longer feel like you.

You can appreciate the woman you've been and become curious about the woman underneath everything you've learned you should be.

You don't need to blow up your life.

You don't need to have all the answers.

You just need to become willing to hear yourself again.

You are allowed to discover what you want now, and trust yourself enough to create it.
